Welcome to my website!

2010 already…! This year won’t be quite as busy for me as the past five have been—at least as far as my racing activities go (see the calendar for my 2010 schedule). But I will be at most of the usual historic events, so I’ll see you there.

The 2009 season was an exciting and eventful one for me. I competed in LMP1 in the LMS and Le Mans 24 Hours, plus historic races, and then in July I sold my five-year-old race team, Strakka Racing. That sale marked a great accomplishment for me as an owner, manager and driver. I built Strakka from the ground up, and then achieved my initial and ultimate goal for the team and myself by starting and finishing the Le Mans 24 hours in LMP1.

My love of motorsport and racing hasn’t waned, and I feel very fortunate to have enjoyed such a great career so far—29 years and counting! Though I’ve driven a huge variety of great racing cars over the years, two results stand out.

The first is starting 11th in the Ginetta-Zytek LMP1 at Le Mans in 2009—and then finishing the race was awesome. (Let me know if you’d like to buy a copy of my Le Mans 24 Hours – Limited Edition Pictorial book).

The second standout for me is winning the RAC TT at Goodwood and being awarded “Driver of the Meeting” in 2008. That was very special, too.

So those are the two most recent, special memories for me. But if I think back, of course there are really many, many others. What is yours?

While I am now pursuing other business interests more than racing, I want to say how grateful I am to all my fans, as well as to my family and friends, for your support and encouragement over the many years. You know who you are…! Thank you.

I hope to see some of you at the races in 2010—come and say hello!

Cheers
